a four year starter and team captain for Tennessee returned to her Davenport roots in 2004 for the next step in her volleyball career as she entered the coaching profession. Hester ranks seventh on the Lady Volunteers list for career kills (1,339), ninth in attack attempts (3,111) and 10th in hitting percentage (.253). During her career, she played both middle and outside hitter.

A graduate of Davenport Central High School, Hester was an all-state selection and Mississippi Athletic Conference Player of the Year her senior year. At Central, she earned four letters in volleyball, three in basketball and two in track. Hester is the daughter of Christine Hester and the late Jim Hester.
