SAU sweeps Iowa Wesleyan, up to 3rd in MCC
Even with moving the start time back twice, the Bees came out swinging in
game one. Knocking the ball all around the field to score 8 runs on 14
hits last night.
Casey Raisbeck hit a 3 RBI double in 4th inning to open the game up 6-2.
IWU came right back to score 3 runs in the 5th inning to make it a 6-5 game.
Mark Gualden hit ball between third and short to drive in a insurance run in the
bottom of the 6th inning to make the score 8-5.
Dave Norkus pitched a scoreless 6th and 7th inning to pick up his third
save of the year. While Evan Cooling won his third game of the year and
Mitch Dunlap receives a hold for his one inning of work.
In game two, Justin Mottet went the distance to improve his record to 3-0 on
the year. Justin allowed only one run in the first inning and scattered
four hits while striking out three. "I want to thank my teammates for
playing great defense behind me tonight. " said Justin Mottet.
Mark Gaulden had a RBI single in the first inning to tie the game and Sean
Murphy had the game winning RBI with a hard hit single to right field in the
second inning.
The Bees next games are scheduled to be played after the QC River Bandits
games on Saturday and Sunday. (Weather Permitting.) Game times are
scheduled for 6 pm.
