Richard F. Koehler Outstanding Senior Biology Award

Professor Koehler Will Be Missed 
Dr. Rick Koehler, associate professor of biology, passed away on Jan. 14, 2005. Koehler touched so many Ambrosians as a professor, colleague, actor, and great friend.

The Richard F. Koehler Award was the inspiration of members of the Biology Club as a way to remember Rick after his sudden passing.  Dr. Sarah Vordtriede along with members of the Biology Club established criteria for the award which tried to capture the essence of Dr. Rick Koehler.  Academic achievement, campus involvement, and writing were all very important to Rick, and these three aspects chosen as the criteria for the the award.  All applicants write an essay in the spring of each year, and the award is given to the outstanding senior who exemplifies scholarship, involvement, and writing ability.
