Personal Background

I teach everything that has to do with plants or ecology at St. Ambrose University, as well as the second semester of general biology. I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating in the 229th class of Central High School. From there I went to Oberlin College, majoring in biology and music. Graduate studies took place at Duke University, where I received a Ph.D. in plant ecology with a minor in forestry.

In June 2007 I received a Masters of Divinity degree from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary and shortly thereafter was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church. Currently I am serving on Sundays at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bettendorf.
