Assistant Professor of Music

Music for St. Ambrose
There are at least three songs that are associated with our fine school. Of these, I have arranged two in ways that no person in his or her right mind would have otherwise tried. In the spirit of fun, beauty and creativity I offer these up to all those of the St. Ambrose community. Enjoy!

1. AMBROSIAN OAKS - PIANO SOLO
Ambrosian Oaks is our alma mater, with words set to "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius. Here's a new version for piano solo based on a recent improvisation.

2. FIGHT SONG - ELECTRONICA
St. Ambrose Victory is our fight song, in this version arranged as a electronic dance piece.

3. AMBROSIAN OAKS - ELECTRONICA
Again, the "Finlandia" tune, this time with the more familiar harmonies, but in an electronic version.

Welcome to the faculty website of William Campbell. I teach music theory and aural skills courses, world music classes, give lessons to composition students, and supervise the computer music lab. As a composer, I write music for theater, dance, film, and the concert stage. I'm also director of the contemporary music ensemble at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.
