Hunger Week 2009 "Think Globally - Act Locally"

Hunger Week is an annual campus wide event at SAU. The week is full of events allowing students, faculty and staff to learn more about hunger and poverty in the world around us while working to help alleviate the pain of hunger locally. With the difficult economic conditions of our day, it is even more important than ever for all Ambrosians to be involved in Hunger Week efforts this year. Look for us in the cafeteria for more details and sign ups.

Service Trips - take place each year during breaks to offer service opportunities to the marginalized in Appalachia, in the inner city of Chicago, or through an expanded international service program.

Green Life - promotes awareness within the community through education and activism to protect and restore the environment.

Amnesty International - is a worldwide campaign that works to promote all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.

Catholic Relief Services - offers international emergency relief and anti poverty programs. Lenten Rice Bowl collection and Fast Fest proceeds go toward their third world poverty-relief services.

Service Learning - gives students an opportunity to apply their academic learning in a setting of community service. Students complete 25 hours of service, participate in regular reflection periods, complete a final project and earn a credit.
