Employer Tours

The Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with area
companies to offer "Employer Tours" to area college students. Employer
tours are designed to showcase area employers and introduce students to the
exciting career opportunities in the Quad City area.
What To Expect
- Area employers such as the City of Moline, John Deere & Company, KJWW,
and Mel Foster are some of the companies students will have the opportunity
to tour
- Company CEOs and/or their representatives will welcome the students and
talk about what makes their business unique, why their employees are
valuable, and what qualities they look for in prospective employees
- Students will learn about various companies' workforce and what they do.
For example, representative from different departments within the companies
will discuss their responsibilities, work product, and desired skill sets as
well as their current and potential workforce needs
- Students will hear from a diverse range of staff as they talk about
their background and what it took to advance in their careers. They
will hear about career progression from both new and experienced staff
members.
- Students will be engaged as they hear stories, watch videos, or move
around to different locations within the company
- College students will learn about current job openings, internship
opportunities, and where to get more information
- Students will receive a tour of the companies' building or facility
- Some companies may decide to host a short reception to allow the
students to informally network with their employees and staff
- Students walk away excited about the organization and the many career
opportunities that await them right here in the Quad Cities!
