Mock Interviews

Mock interviews will be held

February 21st & 22nd 2007

SIGN UP FOR MOCK INTERVIEWS

A mock interview with an employer is available for students at St. Ambrose University to provide basic interviewing experience that will help prepare them for candidacy in their fields.  This experience allows the student to introduce himself or herself and to answer questions including “Tell me about yourself, “ and “What are your strengths/weaknesses?”  The student will also be asked some typical behavioral interviewing questions that will demonstrate competencies such as problem solving, teamwork, initiative and organizational ability.  Following the interview the student will be critiqued and evaluated by the interviewer.  The student may have a copy of this evaluation and a copy will be included in the student’s file.

The Career Center has asked employers to join us in this effort who have been involved with our University, our students and graduates, and our services.  They do this as a service to our University.

Instructions:

1.         Sign up for a scheduled interview time and submit your resume.

2.         Practice your introduction and answers to the expected questions. Have examples ready to use for behavioral questions.

3.         Arrange to have what you need to dress professionally.  (Consider Good Will or The Discovery Shop or borrowing from a friend if you can’t afford to buy currently.)

4.         Arrive 10 minutes early for your interview and check in at the Career Center in the Rogalski Center.

5.         Thank the employer who interviewed you and follow-up with a written thank-you note either email or snail mail.
