Alumni Direct AssistanceThis is a program for all full-time job seekers. Just fill out a simple form and job postings, in your field of interest, will be sent directly to your e-mail account. Alumni can sign up at any time and new graduates can sign up as early as six months before graduation.Career Counseling and TestingFOCUS testing helps to define your values, interests, skills, and leisure preferences. This test is divided into eight sections. It allows you the opportunity to explore different occupations while taking the test. To take the FOCUS test click here. You must call the Career Center in order to get your username and password to complete the FOCUS test. Don't forget to make an appointment with a Career Counselor (333-6339) to interpret your results.CHOICES PLANNER is another testing instrument available to students, staff, and faculty. Internship/Co-op Education Listings and Placement AssistanceThe first step in getting an internship is to come into the Career Center to start a file. Once you have started a file and have completed a resume you will be on your way to obtaining an internship. For more information about internships click here. Job Listings, Full-time and Part-time Our job listings page is updated daily and contains postings from all over the United States. If you would like to view our job listings page please click here. Job shadowing gives you the opportunity to meet with a professional in your field of interest for a half day or whole day and see exactly what they do. You will have the opportunity to network with individuals as well as ask any questions you might have about the field. If you are interested in doing a job shadow, please call the Career Center at 333-6339. The more you practice interviewing the better you get at it. The Career Center now offers mock phone interviews. Many companies do their first interview over the phone. Setting up a mock phone interview is easy. Just call the Career Center and set up an appointment for an interview and a staff member will call you back at the scheduled time for your mock phone interview. You will then receive an evaluation of your interview via e-mail. Sign up for a mock interview! On-Campus Interviewing is for those students getting ready to graduate who are seeking full-time employment. Make sure to check our on-campus recruiting schedule to find out when the employers will be coming to campus. You should begin thinking about resume and cover letter development as early as your Freshman year of college. Please see our resume and cover letter page to help get you started and then make an appointment to come into the Career Center and meet with a professional to complete the development of your resume and/or cover letter. Many students are awarded work study through the Financial Aid office. Most students who are awarded work study can work up to 10 hours on or off campus. Career Coaching Online: Get updates on career related topics, and try to stump the Career Center with any questions you may have. Just go to communication and click on discussion board.
