Some of you have reported problems
with double login screens and looping back to the login page
when you try to access a course. Here is some advice
on how to set your computer. Please be aware that the
situation is caused by factors on your computer, not the
Blackboard server or network:
Make sure you are not using a bookmark
to access your login page. (type
https://blackboard.sau.edu)
If this doesn't work try the following
steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2.
From your home page Click Tools ( up top in the menu
bar) |
|
| |
|
|
|
3.
Select Internet Options 4. From the first Tab selected (General)
Find Browsing History and Select Delete. 6. Click on the Security tab 7. Click on Trusted sites 8. Click on the Site... button 9. Type in
blackboard.sau.edu
remove the check by 'Requires server verification
(https:) for all sites in the zone'
10. Click OK 11. Close all browser windows and restart
Other Things to check:
- Run malware checks on your system.
- Are you running behind a company firewall?
- Go to Tools > Internet Options > General tab > click on
Settings for Browsing History and make
sure that "Check for newer versions of stored page" is set
to "Every time I visit the webpage."
- Have you tried another browser - example: Firefox by Mozilla
If using Internet Explorer, sometimes the following will
stop the login loop:
- Go to tools>Internet Options
- Select the Advanced tab and do the following:
- Check the box for Disabled script debugging
- Un-check the box for Display a notification about
every script error
- Un-check the box for show friendly http error
message (especially if getting Session Timed out error,
Session Already running error, HTTP 403 Forbidden or
Access Denied errors)
Blackboard Login Problems
A handful of students have reported problems logging into
Webmail and/or Blackboard. After entering your name and
password, the screen refreshes itself, and will NEVER get
past the login screen. If you are one of these students,
AND you're running Windows, we may have a solution:
Open your control panel, go to Add/Remove programs, and look
for a program called "Commonname." Remove the
program, restart your computer, and try to access Webmail or
Blackboard again. |
