Center for Instructional Design and Technology

The Center for Instructional Design and Technology (CIDT) is a function of SAU's Information Technology Department. A major function of the CIDT is to provide support for SAU professors and students using Blackboard online coursework. We accomplish this by working one-on-one with faculty members to match needs to resources,  by hosting workshops, and by providing training where appropriate.  CIDT operates an open-computing lab and provides telephone, email and walk-in assistance in lower Cosgrove.

CIDT also offers software application (ex: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) instruction to all SAU faculty and staff.  The classes vary and are repeated throughout the year.  The schedule will be posted.

For Students: Student resources on this site include online user self-assessment, computer requirements, sample course elements, getting started in a course that uses Blackboard, and Frequently Asked Questions.

For Instructors: Instructors interested in creating online coursework for web-based or web-assisted classes will find CIDT's course creation guidelines and procedures, design tips and "How To's" for creating Blackboard coursework, and answers to your Frequently Asked Questions.
