Berthel Fisher & Company, a financial services holding company was formed in 1985. Headquartered in Marion, Iowa, the Company’s corporate office is conveniently situated in the rapidly-growing Cedar Rapids-Iowa City corridor. As CEO, Tom instills his values and leadership style in his management team to provide full-service securities brokerage services for investors representing over 350 Registered Representatives in 38 states, investment banking services for mature companies and entrepreneurs, leases and loans for growing business, and a full array of insurance products.

Tom graduated from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa (´74) and later earned his MBA from the University of Iowa (´93). He holds a Financial and Operations Principal license issued by the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., and is a Certified Life Underwriter.

A respected local and industry business leader, Tom serves as Director of EDmin.com (headquartered in San Diego, CA), a provider of learning management solutions that enable school districts and teachers to accelerate student learning, Past Chairman of the Local Firms Committee, and as board member for FutureMatrix, Inc., Vista Dental/InterMed & Schebler Company. Also a member of the Government Relations and Investment Banking Committees of the Securities Industry Association, Tom strives to keep his pulse on the industry.

Outside the office, he is active throughout the community, working with various charities and philanthropic organizations, serving on the Midwest Division Board and past President of the Linn County Board for the American Cancer Society, and most recently as Chair of the Variety Club. Tom has also served on numerous fundraising committees. He remains an active participant in the political process, his business, and his playtime passion, golf.
