Linda V. Bowers, M.A., CCC/SLP, is Co-owner of LinguiSystems, Inc., one of the nation's top publishers of materials for speech-language pathologists and special educators. Linda received her B.S. and M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois. She has co-authored over 60 LinguiSystems publications.
Linda was the 1995 Chair of the Quad City United Way Campaign, a past United Way Chairperson, and a past Junior Achievement Board Chair. In 1995, Linda was honored as the Quad City Times Volunteer of the Year, in 1999 was inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame along with her business partner, Rosemary Huisingh. Linda was also honored as one of the Quad Cities Philanthropists of 2000 by NSFRE (National Society of Fund Raising Executives) and by the Alexis d'Tocqueville Society for outstanding and exemplary philanthropy. Since 1999, Linda has co-chaired the early-childhood initiative, Success By 6 and also the Successful Children and Youth Focus Team, convened by United Way.
Linda served as president of the Board of Trustees for the American Speech and Hearing Foundation, is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, an honoree of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a Fellow of the Iowa Speech-Language Association. She has also served on the following boards or advisory groups: See Life Clearly Foundation, St. Ambrose Children’s Campus, New Ventures, Northern Illinois University Health and Human Sciences Advisory Council, and Ballet Quad Cities.
Linda loves to cook, SCUBA dive, entertain friends, be with her family (grandchildren especially!), and generally have fun.
