NON-TRADITIONAL/COMMUTER STUDENTS
Do you find it difficult
to juggle your life at St. Ambrose with your demanding home
life? Do you feel like you lose yourself in this balancing
act? If so, you may find it helpful to know that you are
not alone. The Counseling Center provides free
services to students at St. Ambrose. We are available for
individual appointments during the day and evening to assist
you in finding your balance and coping with your unique
stressors. In addition, due to the number of
non-traditional/commuter students we have seen, we would
like to offer a group setting to meet your needs. Group
therapy can be a very supportive environment to identify
with others who share your unique challenges as a
non-traditional student. Facilitated by a licensed clinical
social worker, this group will aim to provide support, find
balance, promote individual growth, set limits/boundaries
with your many demands, and promote self-care and an overall
healthy lifestyle.
WE NEED TO KNOW: ARE
YOU INTERESTED??? IF SO, PLEASE CONTACT AMY SCOTT, LCSW, AT
THE COUNSELING CENTER BY PHONE (EXT. 6423) OR BY EMAIL (ScottAmyM@sau.edu).
Please let us know if you would be available either
Wednesday evenings from 5pm-6pm or Fridays over the lunch
hour. Based upon your feedback, we will set up a regular
group time.
Once again, we are here
to serve you. Our services are FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL. In
addition to this group offering, we provide a variety of
individual services. We invite you to visit our website at
http://www.sau.edu/counseling to learn more about
our services and to acquaint you with how we serve the
Ambrose community. If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact us, or just stop in. We are located on the
second floor of the Rogalski Center and have office hours
that allow us to meet the scheduling needs of virtually any
student.
Please let us know if
you are interested!! Thanks for your feedback and have a
great semester!!
