Taking classes through the St. Ambrose ACCEL Program was the key for Samantha Johnson to begin the journey toward earning her bachelor’s degree.
“I decided it was time,” says Johnson, who is majoring in business administration and has aspirations of one day going to law school. As a single mother of two young boys, “I needed the education that would help me advance in my career.”
Taking classes during the day simply wasn’t feasible for Johnson, but she recognized the benefits of learning in a classroom with other students like her. Fortunately, ACCEL offers the best of both worlds.
ACCEL classes are perfect for her schedule because she can go straight from work to class. She was even able to start classes in the Kahl Building in downtown Davenport, close to her workplace at MidAmerican Energy.
Best of all, “I’ve grown as a person through ACCEL,” she says. “It’s increased my confidence level in what I’m capable of doing. I can see myself growing at work as well.”
