Notre DameUniversity of Notre Dame – Certificate in Executive Management - Certificate In Executive Management   

St. Ambrose University is pleased to announce our partnership with the University of Notre Dame.

The Certificate in Executive Management Program has  an emphasis on key areas of finance, human resource management, marketing and decision making. 

The 2009 Notre Dame Certificate In Executive Management Program is designed to be of value to a wide audience. It will appeal to owners, partners, executives, managers, directors, and other key personnel.

  • This program qualifies for Continuing Education Units (5.5 CEUs) and Continuing Professional Education credits (66 CPEs).
  • The program will be delivered via video conferencing at St. Ambrose University.
  • All participants meeting specified attendance requirements will receive a certificate of completion awarded by the University of Notre Dame.

Human Resource Certification Institute Sessions (HRCI)

St. Ambrose University, endorsed by the Great River Human Resource Association (GRHRA) Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) presents an annual rotation of continuing education courses for HRCI re-certification credits:

$300.00 for series of 6 sessions for a GRHRA member
$365.00 for series of 6 sessions for Non-member
$80.00 a single session for a GRHRA member

5-DAY LEADERSHIP THROUGH PEOPLE SKILLS (LTPS)

Learn how to be persuasive, gain commitment and get results from the people you work with. Leadership Through People Skills (LTPS) will teach you the practical skills needed to manage. LTPS is an intensive, five-day learning experience that transforms managers into leaders by creating the skills necessary to meet today’s business challenges and turn vision into reality.

LTPS succeeds by using a dynamic learning environment. Prior to attending the program, you will complete some pre-work, including background reading, writing assignments and information gathering. By starting the learning process in pre-work, you can devote more time to action learning and practice in the seminar.

The fee for LTPS is $2,246 (effective May 1, 2007) and includes all seminar materials, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments at breaks. Allow 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

LTPS (MBA 690/MOL 690) is a core requirement for candidates seeking the St. Ambrose University Master of Business Administration or Master of Organizational Leadership degree. Participants who are not currently enrolled and may consider seeking academic credit, must notify our Professional Development office first.

Group discounts are available. LTPS can also be delivered as an in-house, company-specific training program.

Excellence in Teaching Institute Writing Project

2008 Online Registration

When: To be announced in 2009

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily. Attendance is mandatory.

Where: Each day is spent in two separate business settings. Personal transportation is required.

Credits: Three graduate credits from St. Ambrose University or re-licensure credit

Critical Collaboration for Health Care Professionals

Participants learn how to improve working relationships, increase personal effectiveness, and develop a healthier work environment by practicing skills that will help them to be more collaborative with patients, doctors, and managers. This one day program is designed by health care professionals for healthcare professionals who work in the areas of nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, caregivers, and all professional personnel who participate with clients in the health care setting. All concepts, discussions, examples, demonstrations, and exercises are grounded in the real world and skills can be applied right away.

INTENDED AUDIENCE
Nurses, PT, OT, Social Work and other professional personnel who participate with clients and caregivers in the health care setting.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

I. Recognize and use the Dimensional Model of Behavior
     • Choose the most effective people skills to collaborate with others
     • Examine yourself and how you impact others

II. Utilize the Five-Step format for productive communication with others.
     • Provide benefits and check receptivity
     • Get the other person’s views
     • Present your views
     • Resolve differences
     • Develop an action plan together

III. Skill Practice and Evaluation
     • Test your collaboration skills in “people skills” situations
     • Sharpen your sizing-up skills
     • Powerful self-awareness through video and team feedback

Some of these organizations include QCB&T, MidAmerican Energy, Alcoa, ORA, Rock Valley Physical Therapy, Radiology Group, H&R Accounts, R.I.
