New Student Orientation
WELCOME
For students taking courses on the arsenal island in
Bldg. 108, whether you are in the ACCEL undergraduate, MOL, or MBA
Program, during the day on the island or evening courses on campus, will
need to sign up in TED for funding for all courses.
However, if you are taking evening courses at the St. Ambrose
ACCEL campus, you must also make sure you are registered with St.
Ambrose through Michelle Beck at 309-782-0965 or Judy Stoefen at
563-441-9500. For
all students taking undergraduate evening courses at ACCEL, you will be
required to take a mandatory one-time online
ACCEL orientation.
BOOKS
Please contact Michelle Beck at TACOM (309-782-0965)
in regard to books for all courses whether you are taking your course on
the island or on campus.
All books for classes being taken on the island are ordered
through and delivered to Michelle Beck.
Michelle will send out an email notification to all island
students that your book is available for pickup, along with your
attached syllabus/module and room assignment.
If you are taking an undergraduate ACCEL, MOL, or MBA evening
course at St. Ambrose, all books must be paid for and picked up at the
St. Ambrose Book Store located at 1936 Harrison Street in Davenport.
Please contact Michelle Beck at TACOM if you are not sure how
your book is to be funded.

ADVISING
Upon acceptance to the program students are assigned an academic
advisor based on the first letter of their last name. The academic
advisor is available to the student to assist in academic planning, such
as course selection and sequencing. However, it is the responsibility of
the student to be aware of their academic plan and to know the
graduation requirements for their chosen degree or certificate program.
Although students are welcome to arrange visits with their advisor at
any time, academic advisors are available for appointments on the Island
at least once a semester.

STUDENT LOAN ELIGIBILITY AND DEFERMENT
If you are interested in applying for student loans or desire to have your pre-existing student loans deferred while taking classes through TACOM, you must request pre-registration for the entire semester. Loan eligibility and deferment is based on a minimum of six credit hours per semester or half-time status. This pre-registration must be reflected in the St. Ambrose University database. Enrolled credit hours in the government training system (TED) do not constitute enrolled credit hours in the St. Ambrose database. To request pre-registration for the full semester, you must contact Michelle Beck.
