Criminal Justice in Juvenile Justice Education
The Master of Criminal Justice
in Juvenile Justice Education is an interdisciplinary program designed
for individuals seeking to work with incarcerated youth in an
educational setting and criminal justice and correctional professionals
interested in working with youth in human service and community
settings. Its focus is on providing knowledge and understanding of
youthful offenders involved in the criminal justice system and how this
impacts the education environment and process.
The curriculum includes courses
in criminal justice and education that are designed to meet the program
objectives. The student can choose either the Practitioner or Research
option depending upon the student’s interests and career goals. The
practitioner option requires 46 semester hours of coursework and
successful completion of a comprehensive examination. The research
option requires 52 credit hours of course work and a thesis. |
