Catherine M. Daters
Cathy, who teaches in the Education Department, received her Ph.D. (1986) from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Administration, Curriculum, and Instruction and her MS
(1979) and B.S. (1977) from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Home Economics
Education. She has 20 years of teaching experience in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska
in elementary, junior high, middle school, high school, and post secondary institutions.
Her hometown, which is shared with 9 brothers and sisters,
is Marshall, Minnesota. Cathy's hobbies include cooking, sewing, and "talking" at
bridge, and her favorite teaching technique or philosophy is to make a learning situation as real as possible. She feels that her students will
use and remember concepts better if she can make it genuine.
She adds that St. Ambrose University is a wonderful place
to work, with very caring and friendly members!
