Dave O'Connell joined the faculty of St. Ambrose University in 1998.  He holds a DBA from Boston University (1998), where he majored in Organizational Behavior.

Dave worked for both the Human Resources Policy Institute and the Executive Development Roundtable at Boston University, where he authored a number of publications, including High Potential Identification  and CEO Learning: Setting the Stage for Research.  As an employee of Harvard University he co-authored the research report Organizational Life After Restructuring: What We Can Learn From the DOE Experience and the Downsizing Literature.  He has presented papers at the Academy of Management annual meeting, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology meeting, and  The Fifth A. F. Jacobson Symposium in Communication at Creighton University.  He co-authored a teaching case on the Wilhelmsen Lines shipping company, which received an award at the 1998 Eastern Academy of Management.

Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, Dave worked as a senior consultant in communications and market information research for the Public Service Company of New Mexico.

Dave received his bachelor’s degree  in Speech Communication from Southern Connecticut State College.  He also holds an MA in Speech Communication and  Executive MBA from the University of New Mexico.

At St. Ambrose University, Dave teaches primarily the DBA readings seminars in Organizational Behavior and Organizational Theory, and MBA and undergraduate courses in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.
