Monica Forret
joined the faculty of St. Ambrose University in 1997. She
holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri (1995),
where she majored in Human Resources and Organizational
Behavior.
Monica has published
articles in Journal of Organizational Behavior, Career
Development International, Group & Organization
Management, Organizational Dynamics, Journal of Vocational
Behavior, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Journal of
Applied Management and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Business and Psychology, and
Leadership & Organization Development Journal on
recruiting, interviewing, organizational citizenship
behavior, networking, and mentoring processes. She has
published book chapters on career issues in Race,
Gender and Ethnicity in the Workplace and in
Research in Management. Currently, she is
spending her time researching networking behaviors, and
has presented papers at the Academy of Management, Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Midwest
Academy of Management conferences on this topic.
Prior to pursuing doctoral
studies, Monica was a CPA and worked as an auditor for
Deloitte and Touche, and later for The Prudential
Insurance Company of America in the internal audit
function. She received her bachelor’s degree from St.
Ambrose University where she majored in accounting. Before
coming to St. Ambrose, Monica was on the faculty at Long
Island University – C. W. Post. She also taught at
Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland, as part of a
joint International MBA Program.
At St. Ambrose University,
Monica teaches DBA courses primarily in Human Resource
Management, Research Methods I, and Special Topics courses
in Careers, Training & Development, and Organizational
Culture. She also teaches
MBA courses in Human Resource Management and
Organizational Behavior.
