Scholarships and Grants
Scholarships and grants are gifts of money to you, to help you meet your educational expenses during your undergraduate career at St. Ambrose. You may be eligible for a scholarship or grant
on the basis of your strong academic performance in high school or at a
previous college, your talent in the fine arts or athletics, or your
demonstrated financial need as determined by the
Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Federal grant information can be found
at http://www.finaid.org.
State of Iowa student aid programs:
To be eligible for the following programs, you must be a resident of Iowa
as defined by the State Board of Regents.

College Student Aid Commission Website.
- The Iowa Tuition Grant Program awards range from $471 to $4,000, depending
on the student's need and the college's or university's tuition and
fees. To apply for an Iowa Tuition Grant, you must be currently
enrolled, or planning to enroll, for at least three hours in an
undergraduate degree program at an eligible Iowa college or
university. The federal FAFSA form is used as the application and must be filed by July 1 of the award year.
- The Iowa Grant Program is designed for exceptionally needy
undergraduate Iowa students attending NCA accredited colleges and
universities in the State of Iowa. These grants, available for full-
and part-time students, range from $100 to $1,000 and are intended to
promote access to Iowa colleges and universities. Due to limited
funding, only a selected number of applicants will be assisted.
- The State of Iowa Scholarship Program gives recognition to students
of very high academic ability and provides monetary awards of up to
$400 for the freshman year, only, based solely on academic ability and
accomplishment. To be eligible, you must be a designated State of Iowa
Scholar as announced during your senior year in high school and plan
to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an eligible
Iowa college or university. (Program is funded based on State budget availability).
