St. Ambrose University will host a jazz concert with performances by both the university acappella group, STAMVOJA, and the jazz ensemble. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, in the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the northwest section of campus.

This will be the debut concert of the jazz ensemble’s new conductor, Scott Sandberg, a graduate student of music at the University of Iowa. The ensemble will perform songs from various artists including Charlie Parker, Count Basie, John Coltrane, and Dizzy Gillespie.  STAMVOJA also will perform jazz, rock and pop songs from groups such as The Beatles, Righteous Brothers and Toto.
