Stephen
Flaherty & Lynn Ahrens, composers of the highly acclaimed musicals "Ragtime", "Schoolhouse Rock", "Lucky Stiff" and "Seussical," have teamed up to bring us their delightfully funny musical, "My Favorite Year". This nostalgic, touchingly funny romp looks back on the Golden Age of live television when the clock kept ticking and the first “take” was always the last. Based on the 1980’s movie that starred Peter O’Toole, "My Favorite Year" is a lively, romantic, swashbuckling affair that will send you from the theatre hopeful and humming.

Tickets: $12 for adults; $11 for faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens; $10 for students, SAU students are free with a current valid student ID. For reservations call 563/333-6251.

Greg Brown, Lucy Kaplansky, Bo Ramsey
Allaert Auditorium
Friday, January 30, 2004 at 7:30 p.m.

You’ve heard them on National Public Radio now you can hear them at Galvin. Singer/songwriters don’t get much better than Iowa’s own Greg Brown, Lucy Kaplansky and Bo Ramsey. Greg Brown is a powerful, compelling and often humorous performer who moves his audiences with the warmth of his dark, rich voice. Lucy Kaplansky is one of the most dynamic singers and songwriters in the acoustic world today. Her pure sweet voice is in direct contrast to Bo Ramsey who remains on a serious prowl, tearin' it up and draggin' his tail through some of the most substantial music heard anywhere. Don’t miss this historic performance because the finale of the evening includes all three of these heartland performers making music together.

Tickets: $15 for adults, $12 for faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens; $10 for students, SAU students are free with current valid student ID. For reservations call 563/333-6251.

Thornton Wilder’s American classic "Our Town" is a deceptively simple story of growing up, living and dying in Grovers Corners, New Hampshire. This SAU Theatre Department production will be performed on a 3/4 thrust stage in which the audience will actually sit on the stage.
