It’s considered by many to be the most inspiring and evocative work produced in American dramatic literature.
Now, St. Ambrose University Theatre brings this moving classic to the stage in a special production featuring Michael Kennedy ’60. SAU graduates and friends working professionally in the theatre from as far as Los Angeles and New York and as close as the Quad Cities are returning to take part in this unforgettable event. Willy Loman has spent his life pursuing the American way, but somehow the riches and respect he covets have eluded him. At age 63, he searches for the moment his life took a wrong turn and the betrayal that undermined his relationship with his family.

TIN HAT QUARTET
Saturday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Allaert Auditorium, Galvin Center

Forging a new acoustic sound that defies categorization while striking universal emotional chords, Tin Hat makes freewheeling chamber music for the 21st century. Hailed by the New York Press for the way it “mines a rare middle ground with a subtly insurgent slant” by “interweaving Old World Europe with postmodern America, south-of-the-border sensuality with concert-hall propriety, and odd-metered syncopation with deeply soulful grooves,” Tin Hat stands poised on the cusp of original American ethnic music.
Tickets: $12 for adults, $10
for faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens, $8 for students, $7 for groups, SAU students with current valid student ID are free.

Sunday, April 17 at 3 p.m.

Acclaimed as a modern masterpiece, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead is the fabulously inventive tale of Hamlet as told by the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare’s play. Tom Stoppard has written a dramatic Laurel and Hardy play as his first and best known work. It is an exciting romp where reality and illusion intertwine to meet fate as all tragic comedies do.
