Humankind, Technology and Engineers

Technology is a significant manifestation of humankind's free will. No matter how we each feel about technology, it has brought significant advances in the quality of human existence. However, technology must remain the servant of humankind and not be allowed to become the master. Engineers that are soundly educated in the Liberal Arts as well as the Sciences, are humankind's natural mechanism to assure that technology remains the servant.

The practice of engineering is essentially creating things that help people, using words, pictures and equations to think and communicate.
