Administrative Assistant - Speech-Language Pathology
The Speech-Language Pathology program has a full-time
opening for a 12 month Administrative Assistant
position. The person will work closely with the Clinic
Coordinator, other faculty, students, and the public.
Duties include but are not limited to:
maintaining confidentiality
of client and student information, serving as initial
and primary person to interface with public,
creating and maintaining client
records and assisting with client scheduling,
maintaining the clinic materials rooms and re-ordering
items, organizing workshops, updating student clinic
hours, and assisting with preparation of course
materials. Position requires ability to work
independently, to prioritize requests, and to assist
faculty, staff, students, clients, and the public.
Minimum of

experience in area of responsibility or related area.

Work
closely with the director and six hall directors to provide
leadership to the department for the administration of all
areas related to housing/residence life for campus
population of 1,500, including housing coordination, alcohol
education, student conduct/adjudication, academic
involvement, staff selection, training & supervision (direct
supervision of 2 RAs), community and program development.
Full-time, live-in member of the Residence Life staff.
Manage upper-class housing area of 96 (apartment-style
hall). REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and two years
full-time residence life experience required; related
master’s degree preferred. REMUNERATION: 12-month position
starting 8/1/09 as possible, competitive salary, meal plan,

LEAD SECURITY
OFFICER
St. Ambrose University’s
Department of Security is looking for an energetic,
people-oriented individual to fill the position of Campus Lead
Security Officer. The Department is committed to hiring staff
interested in serving students, faculty and staff. Individual
will perform a variety of safety, enforcement, and crime
prevention tasks for the College. Responsibilities include:
attending periodic training and meetings; providing regular foot
patrols of campus property; responding to emergencies and calls
for service; documenting incidents; performing proprietary
investigations; providing traffic control and parking
enforcement; assisting with campus safety computer records and
reports; and providing crime awareness education. Preferred
Qualifications: 4 year college degree or its equivalent, 2+
years experience on a college campus, Minimum Qualifications:2+
years of relevant security experience, and/or equivalent
educational experience, possess excellent organizational and
interpersonal communication skills, possess good judgment,
possesses a professional bearing, and the ability to exercise
discretion, have a valid driver’s license and good driving
history, successfully pass a background review, including
criminal history and driving history, obtain and maintain CPR
and First Aid certification, familiarity with
computer applications (MS Word or
equivalent, Outlook, etc.), have basic knowledge of campus
environment, relevant laws, and safety and fire prevention.

Service Desk
Support Specialist
The Information Technology Department at St. Ambrose University has
an immediate opening for an energetic individual to provide the
first point of contact and resolution for faculty, staff and
students for technical support for all hardware and software
installed at the University. Qualified candidates must have
extensive experience with: Active Directory; Microsoft Windows and
Macintosh operating systems and hardware; and troubleshooting
hardware such as printers, scanners, projectors, and multimedia
equipment. Qualified candidates must maintain accurate records,
effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and interact
well in a team environment while managing multiple competing
priorities and diverse tasks. Being available to work evening and
weekend hours, possessing strong customer service, analytical and
project management skills as well as the ability to learn new
technologies quickly is a necessity.
A minimum of 3 years of experience using and
operating in a Windows environment is required. Extensive knowledge
of Microsoft Productivity suites, Microsoft SysPrep, Symantec Ghost
is preferred as well as being a Dell desktop certified technician.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and/or four years of
relevant experience with preference given for a degree in the
Computer Science field.
