Jazz Images was recorded in KALA Studio “A” between 1993 and 2006.This series is based on similar jazz and blues song titles. It was created by Dr. Michael Halstead, and engineered by KALA Operations Manager David Baker. Michael, a faculty member in the St. Ambrose University School of Social Work and Music Department, passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 2006. However, “Jazz Images” and its companion program “Jazz Perspectives” are still part of KALA’s jazz offerings. Tune in Mondays at 7 PM Central Time (rebroadcast Wednesdays at 6 PM).

Jazz Perspectives was produced at KALA from the late ‘70s to 2006. “Jazz Perspectives” is scheduled to return to the KALA airwaves in the fall of 2009. Each show features specific jazz artists and instruments. Tune in for the first show featuring great trumpet players.
