- KALA-FM's HD Radio Signal?
KALA also broadcasts
two HD (Hybrid Digital) radio channels, KALA HD-1 and KALA HD-2.
A radio receiver capable of receiving HD signals is required to
receive these two digital channels. HD radio offers a higher
quality sound on multiple subcarriers. A standard FM radio
receiver is all that is needed to receive KALA's main (analog)
signal on.
KALA HD-1 offers a digital version of the main KALA programming
channel, while KALA HD-2 provides a secondary programming outlet not
heard on the main (analog) frequency. An Analog version of HD-2 digital progrmming can be heard on 106.1 FM.
