Tuition and Fee Information | Financial Aid

TUITION AND FEE INFORMATION

For 2008-2009 Academic Year

Tuition per credit hour $637
Total 3 credit course cost $1911
LTPS $2361
Course by competency examination fee $100
Yearly parking fee $45

Due to inflationary pressures, there may be increases in tuition costs. These will be published in advance when possible. Other listed costs are also subject to change on the same basis.

It is the policy of St. Ambrose University that all tuition and fees are due and paid by the first night of class each semester. Students may attend classes without such prior payment if:

  1. An installment/deferment plan is submitted by a student who is qualified for reimbursement from his/her employer, the Veterans Administration, etc.
  2. An installment/deferment plan is submitted by a student, which provides for installment payments by the student or which delays payment pending receipt of a student loan.

The installment/deferment application is available on the web at http://web.sau.edu/StudentAccounts/forms/SAUInstallment.pdf. Send the form to St. Ambrose University, Attn. Student Accounts with an original signature.  Applications are not accepted on line.  Please note that late fees may apply and are listed at the bottom of the form. Failure to pay, or make arrangements to pay, tuition by the first class may result in inability to officially register or in being dropped from classes.

FINANCIAL AID
Veteran's Benefits

The St. Ambrose MBA program is accredited by the North Central Association and Iowa Department of Education. Check for your V.A. eligibility status with the St. Ambrose registrar's office.

Student Education Loans
The student is advised to consult the Financial Aid office of St. Ambrose, located on the first floor of Ambrose Hall. Eligibility for student loans generally requires that students complete two courses in the fall and spring semesters (receiving a grade other than incomplete).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students receiving federally guaranteed student loans must maintain enrollment as a three-quarter-time student (minimum 6 credit hours) throughout the academic semester.

For further information, please contact the financial aid office at 563/333-6314.

Employer Tuition Assistance
Your employer may have a tuition assistance program to help underwrite your graduate education costs.

Employer's tuition assistance policies vary from partial payment to full payment, plus, in some cases, books and fees. Students attending under employer tuition assistance policies must sign promissory notes each semester which enable them to pay tuition 15 working days after receipt of official grade reports in the mail from the registrar's office. It is recommended that you ask about tuition assistance policies where you work.

Research Assistantships
The St. Ambrose MBA program offers a limited number of research assistantships to selected students. Inquire at the College of Business office for details and application forms.

MBA Alumni Tuition Discount
St. Ambrose MBA graduate alumni are eligible for a one-third tuition discount on any additional MBA courses they may wish to take after their graduation date.

Information for International Students
International students seeking graduate admission to the St. Ambrose College of Business should be clearly aware of the inability of St. Ambrose to provide any financial aid to such students except research assistantships. The university is a private institution supported primarily by funds derived from the tuition payments of the students. These funds are augmented by generous benefactors to permit the operation of the institution.

No U.S. government funds (federal funds) are available to those who are not U.S. citizens.

No State of Iowa tuition grants are available to those who are not U.S. citizens and residents of the State of Iowa. (The exception to these regulations are legally admitted resident immigrants possessing a U.S. government Green Card as persons legally preparing to become citizens of the U.S.).

You are urged to apply to your own government or other scholarship sources in your country in order to receive the financial assistance you need to continue to pursue your career goals.

Employment in the United States of International Students on F1 visa is greatly restricted by regulations of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
