Faculty Who are Here to Teach
Most full-time faculty have earned doctoral degrees, and just as many have real world experiences to bring to the classroom. Adjunct faculty are carefully selected based on their work experiences, enhancing the real-world perspectives in the classroom. This blend of full-time and adjunct faculty creates a valuable synergism of theoretical and practical perspectives. While the focus is on student learning, having faculty members who are current and productive in their fields keeps everyone on the leading edge of learning.

Individualized Attention
In addition to faculty who are dedicated to student learning, you’ll find St. Ambrose values your particular academic background and work experience. Each student’s background is considered individually, with your goals at the top of the list. Students may even replace a basic course with a higher-level course in their area.

Integrative Curriculum
Integration across the curriculum provides you with a sense of how the various functional areas of business relate to each other and interact in a real-life setting. St. Ambrose also takes a unique approach to statistics, with students taking a one-credit hour statistical application course, making statistics relevant in a learning environment.

Specialized Concentrations
Concentrations that provide even greater focus to your studies and add relevance to your degree are offered in Finance, Health Care Administration, Human Resource Management, International Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Not-for-profit Management.

Ethics
St. Ambrose has a long history and reputation for a strong ethics emphasis throughout its curriculum. In fact, Business Ethics and Social Responsibility is one of the MBA curriculum’s required courses. Social responsibility, as part of the MBA mission, is emphasized throughout the program.

An Emphasis on Leadership
Leadership is also emphasized in the curriculum through a unique one-week seminar called Leadership Through People Skills (LTPS). Students have other leadership opportunities through the Graduate Student Government Association and the MBA Senate.

Projects and Community Service
Students get the opportunity to put their classroom knowledge in action with a culminating project experience. Many of these projects are devised to work with community organizations and businesses to provide them with real solutions to their very real challenges.

Flexibility
Flexibility is one of our greatest strengths. With daytime, evening and Saturday class times and full- or part-time tracks available, courses delivered via the Web—even courses offered at multiple sites in Eastern Iowa—you have a number of ways to tailor your degree program to fit your schedule.

Availability
MBA courses at St. Ambrose rarely close because of maximum enrollment. We work hard to ensure students have at least two classes each fall and spring. Helpful College of Business staff members are available to advise and assist students. Faculty are available during office hours—and many outside of regular hours—to help students when needed.

Small Classes
Our classes rarely exceed 25 students. Most classes range from 15–20 students on campus, with even fewer at most satellite sites.

Accreditation
The St. Ambrose H.L. McLaughlin MBA program is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. St. Ambrose University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university’s College of Business is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.
