Fighting Bees land two sport athlete
Davenport, Iowa- St. Ambrose men’s basketball Coach Ray
Shovlain is excited to announce the landing of Scott Blanchette for the
2008-09 basketball season. Blanchette will be doing double duty as he will also
be a member of the St. Ambrose University baseball team.
Blanchette, a 6'4 forward from Bishops McNamara High
School, led his team in scoring at 12 points per game and was second in
rebounding at five rebounds per contest. Blanchette was his team's leading three
point shooter and won his team's "Taking Charge Award" by taking the most
charges on the season (27).
Blanchette was also a two year starting catcher for Bishop
McNamara and is currently leading his team in RBIs.
Blanchette is also a member of his school's Z Club, Spanish
Club and Letterman's Club.
"As always, we are going to try and get the best players
from the Chicago Catholic League and the East Suburban League," Coach Ray
Shovlain said. "Scott is a versatile player and we are expecting big things from
him over his four years here."
