Cedric Collins chooses St. Ambrose

Walter Lutheran High School's Cedric Collins has chosen to continue his basketball career at St. Ambrose and will join the Fighting Bees for the 2008-09 season.

Collins, a six-foot, 175 pound guard, started two years and averaged 12.5 points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals per game during his senior year. He also led his team in three point field goals made.

A unanimous 1st Team All-Conference selection in the Private School League, Collins helped his team achieve two consecutive Regional Championships (2007, 2008) before being eliminated two years in a row by North Lawndale Prep. Collins was distinguished as his team's top defender and team MVP for the 2007-08 season.

"Cedric will be a great addition for our team," Coach Ray Shovlain said. "Cedrichas made strong contributions to his high school team and we expect him to do the same for us during his career at St. Ambrose."
