#11 Huntington knocks off Bees
Huntington, IN- With four players scoring 64 of their 78 total points, the
Bees could not pull off the upset as they fell to #11 ranked Huntington
University.
Cold shooting hurt the Fighting Bees in the first half as they only managed to
put up 30 points in the first frame. The Bees hit just 13 of 40 shots from the
field and went 2-12 from beyond the arc in the first half. Huntington shot 50%
from the field by connecting on 16-32 shots from the field.
Trailing at the half 45-30, the Bees offense came to life in the second half.
Freshman guard Reggie Shipp scored 16 of his 18 points for the game in the
second half. Shipp connected on 6-10 shots from the field and went 7-17 for the
game. Shipp also recorded six rebounds and dished out five assists.
Adam Fahrenkrog put together a double-double performance for the Bees.
Fahrenkrog scored 20 points, twelve of which came in the second half, and hauled
in 11 rebounds. Fahrenkrog knocked in 9-12 shots from the field and went 2-3
from the line.
Brett Cole had another solid performance for the Bees as the senior 15 points in
just 21 minutes of action. Cole connected on 5-12 shots from the field,
including 3-5 from three.
Alex Washington rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Bees with 11 points
on 4-7 shooting from the field. Alex Burkle was on pace for double-digits after
scoring seven points in the first half. However, Burkle did not attempt a shot
in the second half and was held to seven.
Kyle Benge led the Foresters with a game-high 26 points. Benge drilled 8-13
shots from the field and went 9-10 from the line in 33 minutes of action.
The Bees have now lost four games in a row and seven of their last nine. They
will look to end that streak when the conference season begins as they host the
Viterbo V-Hawks on January 5th.
