Anderson signs with SAU
St. Ambrose University Men’s Golf Coach Jeff Griebel is
excited to announce the signing of one of the top high school golfers from
northern Illinois.
Brent Anderson, a senior at Ottawa High School (Illinois)
has signed a letter of intent and will attend St. Ambrose in the fall 2008.
Anderson was the medalist in the North Central Illinois
Boy’s Golf Conference Championship (NCIC) his sophomore, junior & senior
seasons. He was an individual state qualifier in 2005 & 2007.
Anderson posted a 38.3 stroke average in competitive
matches his senior season at Ottawa High School and was voted the Ottawa Times
2007 Golf Player of the Year.
He was medalist in seven events his senior season.
“We are very pleased to have a player the caliber of Brent
Anderson joining our golf
program next season, “ said Coach Griebel. “He will bring
experience and confidence to our team next fall.”
Anderson will be joining a St. Ambrose golf team that has
won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Region 7
Championship and qualified for the NAIA National Golf Tournament ten of the last
eleven years. St. Ambrose had a school record 3rd place team finish
at the 2004 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship and finished 4th in
2006. They are currently ranked 11th in the NAIA Men’s Golf National
Poll. |
