German and French as well
as a combination major with the first language option Spanish.
All three language programs strive to prepare students for careers in the global
market.
Proficiency in oral and written communication is stressed. Study abroad is strongly encouraged for Spanish and required for German and
French. A non-teaching minor is also available in Spanish, German or French
on campus or abroad. International Studies provides students with a sophisticated
knowledge of world affairs that will be necessary for a whole variety of professional
careers in the next century.
A minor in International Studies is a broad-based,
interdisciplinary plan of study that focuses on contemporary worldissues
and concerns. It allows students to graduate with an awareness of their
placein a rapidly changing world and with the attitudes and skills to allow
them to participate effectively in the contemporary global community.
