The
Master in Pastoral Theology (MPTh) program at St. Ambrose
University is
designed for lay Christians of all denominations who desire to
serve their faith community
through a variety of ministries including: youth, hospitals,
jails, adult education, liturgy, bible study, spiritual
direction, administration, and many more. Courses are based on the
Catholic heritage of St. Ambrose and ecumenical in scope.
The program helps individuals deepen their
academic knowledge of Christian ministries, while providing an opportunity to
integrate life experiences with theology and scripture.
Our faculty offer both strong academic
credentials and diverse pastoral experiences. They teach on campus
and online. Besides teaching, faculty write textbooks and journal articles, attend
professional conferences and provide ministry to local churches and the Diocese of Davenport.
This combination of a knowledgeable and
experienced faculty only adds to the richness and personal satisfaction
that the MPS program provides. Our students not only engage in
a challenging academic course of studies, but leave better
prepared to share their talents and gifts with others though
ministry to the church.
