SAU Music Ensembles
  • Symphonic Band: The primary instrumental group on campus, the Symphonic Band is open to students of all majors and gives several concerts throughout the year. 
  • University Chorale: This non-auditioned mixed choral group is comprised of students from all majors performing a wide variety of music from many stylistic and historical periods.
  • University and Community Symphony Orchestra: New last year, the orchestra provides an opportunity for St. Ambrose students and community members to play music from the rich and varied orchestral repertoire. 
  • Jazz Ensembles:  Explore a wide variety of jazz and jazz-influenced styles. Students must audition for these groups.
  • Chamber Singers: An auditioned ensemble of about 12 singers who perform repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to Broadway.
  • STAMVOJA: An auditioned acappella ensemble, STAMVOJA primarily focuses on music of a jazz-influenced nature.

The Music Department also is affiliated with:

  • Quad City Wind Ensemble: An adult-auditioned group that performs the highest quality music for wind, brass and percussion.
