St. Ambrose University
Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band strives to create a supportive atmosphere and esprit de corps where students can extend themselves and grow as musicians, as colleagues, as friends, and as individuals. Objectives and goals of the St. Ambrose University Symphonic Band are:

  • Through active participation in the ensemble, students will explore a variety of musical styles, forms and genres. Rehearsal and performance of the finest wind repertoire at the highest level will enhance the student's aesthetic awareness and perception.
  • The rehearsal process will augment students' self-discipline and sense of individual commitment to the group. The common goal of a superior musical product shall influence preparation on both an individual and ensemble level.
  • Maximized involvement with performed music in home concerts, off-campus performances, civic and athletic events shall raise the student's awareness of music as a powerful cultural force.
