SAU Music Education Department
ePortfolio Project

Examples of Student ePortfolios:

Matthew Jones (in progress)
Timothy McBride (in progress)

ePortfolios are created as part of
Dr. Bechen's MUS324 Music Technology Course.

Purpose of Portfolio:

This performance-based assessment portfolio serves three purposes.

1. As noted in the Mission Statement, St. Ambrose education students should be “professionally ethical” and “possess the knowledge and skills . . . to serve all learners.” This portfolio provides students with an opportunity to both demonstrate their abilities as preservice teachers and reflect upon their work.

2. In addition, through the portfolio’s focus on the professional components of Charlotte Danielson, the portfolio serves as a bridge between the INTASC standards of preservice teachers and the Iowa Teaching Standards of in-service teachers.

3. To comply with state education law requiring assessment of preservice teachers and evidence of preservice educator achievement.

For more information on St. Ambrose's music education eportfolio program, please contact Dr. Gene Bechen, at 563/333-6149 or email BechenEugeneF@sau.edu.
