William Campbell, Ph.D.

 

CampbellWilliam Campbell composes music for theater, dance, film and the concert stage. A talented pianist and improviser, he has also performed in multiple music groups including the acclaimed Sonoran Consort. William is an assistant professor of music at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, teaching Music Theory and Composition. He has also taught at Southwest Missouri State University and Pima Community College.

He attended the University of Arizona (BM), the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (MM) and the University of Oregon (PhD). His teachers included Daniel Asia, David Conte, Elinor Armer, David Crumb and Robert Kyr. His music has received regional and national awards, and he has received recognition for outstanding scholarship and teaching.
