Changes in the health care system impact management and practice roles of nurses in leadership positions. Nurses who hold or pursue a role in nursing management and administration require advanced preparation for these roles.

These nurses manage resources, work environments and personnel while overseeing the nursing and health care needs of individuals, families and groups.  Advanced preparation in nursing prepares the practitioner for a higher level of practice as the nurse develops, guides and evaluates their own practice and the practice of others.

The MSN program is taking applications for a cohort to begin Fall 2009. The application deadline is March 31, 2009.

For more information on the Master of Science in Nursing Administration program, contact  Kathryn McKnight, Director - 563/333-6069 or nursing@sau.edu .
