Student Conference Mission Statement

 Students will gather together to learn, to share, and to interact in a collegial environment. Through interactions at the conference, students will enrich their own lives and the lives of others.  

2002 Conference

  The St. Ambrose Occupational Therapy Student Conference will be held at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. Davenport is located on the Mississippi River in Eastern Iowa about 3 hours west of Chicago. The event will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 and I would like to send brochures to you for sharing with your classmates. If you could email me how many brochures you'd like me to send and where I should send them I would appreciate it. Additionally, there is a link below to download a printable PDF version of the brochure. I realize that it is summer and many of you do not have classes during the summer, but this event is early in the fall semester and we want to make sure to get the word out about it and have as many people attend as possible.   At the conference last year, 13 OT and OTA programs were represented from KS (Newman University, Wichita, KS), IA (St. Ambrose University, Kirkwood Community College), IL (Midwestern University, Rush University, Illinois Central College, University of Illinois-Chicago), and WI (UW-Madison & UW-Milwaukee). We'd like to see the number students and states represented increase! We have had increasing attendance each year! All sessions are presented by practicing clinicians with much experience in the area in which they are presenting. Program offerings at the conference are of interest to OT and OTA students.

Occupational Therapy Apparel For Sale!

The SAU Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) will have over 10 styles (including a complete variety of sizes and colors) of OT t-shirts, sweatshirts (light and heavyweight), baseball caps, turtlenecks and bags for sale. Only cash and checks can be accepted for purchases.

Occupational Therapy at St. Ambrose University

In response to urgent local and regional needs for trained health professionals, St. Ambrose established a bachelor of science in occupational therapy (BSOT) degree program in 1987.In 1997, in recognition of an ever-increasing emphasis on professional and advanced training, the program evolved to offer graduate-level coursework leading to a masters of occupational therapy (MOT) degree. St. Ambrose offers the only masters of occupational therapy program in Iowa.
