THE PRE-LAW CERTIFICATE

The Department of Political Science offers students the opportunity of earning a Pre-Law Certificate. The Pre-Law Certificate is designed for students who are interested in law and are considering pursuing a career in law after graduation. Students who have successfully completed the program will receive their certificate at the awards ceremony which is held before graduation.

In order to receive the Pre-Law Certificate, students must complete 33 semester credits, 27 of which are beyond general education requirements, including: 
     1. ACCT 201, 202; ECON 202
     2. Any 300-level writing or literature course
     3. PHIL 201, 210
     4. Any four of PSCI 102, 103, 110, 304, 316, 330, 360

A minimum 2.0 grade-point average is required of the courses needed to complete the program.

Students are strongly encouraged to make the following choices in their general education courses: PHIL 207, 210; HIST 111; PSCI 101; ECON 201
