Pre-Law Club photos | Folwell Lecture

The St. Ambrose University Pre-Law Club is designed not only for students who plan to attend law school, but also for those interested in learning more about legal issues. In the past the Pre-Law Club has participated in the following activities:

Ambrose students with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia at Drake Law School

1. LAW SCHOOL FORUM

In the fall we attend a Law School Forum in Chicago, sponsored by the Law School Admissions Council. Law School Forums address the following questions::

• What law schools are best for you?
• How does the admission process work?
• What is the best way to prepare for the LSAT?
• How can you finance your legal education?
• What law school opportunities are available for members of minority groups?

The forum is held each October in Chicago.  For the weekend trip, we usually leave on a Friday morning and return on a Saturday afternoon.

2. FOLWELL LECTURE

The Frank and Jane Folwell Lecture in Pre-Law and Political Science is held annually during the fall.  The event has featured a variety of different lecturers over the years.     

3. LIBRARY

Please visit our Pre-Law Center in 209 McMullen Hall. There we have a library of information on law schools across the United States. We also have a library of LSAT prep. materials that can be loaned out to students. 

4. LSAT PREPARATION

In the Spring we meet regularly to familiarize ourselves with the LSAT. During meetings we take practice questions and discuss the answers.

5. CHRISTMAS PARTY

Every year in December we hold a Christmas party.
