  Department of Psychology, McMullen Hall
The primary mission of the Psychology Department at St. Ambrose University is to promote the science of psychology, and along with instruction in the liberal arts, prepare students for post-baccalaureate careers, post-baccalaureate education, and a life of learning. This is accomplished, in part, through effective teaching and treating students as partners in the learning process.

Students obtain a broad background in theoretical and applied areas in psychology through their coursework. They are provided opportunities for research in the curriculum through coursework and through independent study and laboratory practicum experiences with faculty.

The ethical treatment of human and animal research participants, and of clients in applied settings is stressed throughout the curriculum. Along with an understanding and appreciation of individual differences, students are enabled to develop ethically.
