Physical Therapy Program

The
mission of the Physical Therapy Department at St. Ambrose University is
to provide high quality professional and post-professional education for
physical therapists. In this process, the department will foster the
personal and professional development of its students, staff and
faculty, and make positive contributions to the university, to the
physical therapy profession and to society.
DPT Program faculty members are
dedicated to providing students with the knowledge, skills and confidence
to become integral members of the modern health care team. Building upon St. Ambrose's long history of liberal
arts studies, the DPT program is distinguished by a rich environment of
academic success, and top-flight clinical experiences.
Courses in the curriculum are
taught by physical therapists who are experts in areas such as
orthopedics, sports medicine, cardiopulmonary, neuromuscular, pediatrics,
geriatrics and wound management. Basic and clinical sciences are
supported by faculty members who have strong clinical and academic
experience.
Employers of SAU/PT graduates
have noted that our graduates:
-
"are great team
players,"
-
"are some of the best
prepared therapists I have worked with,"
-
"have a good broad base
of knowledge regarding diagnosis and appropriate treatment
interventions,"
-
"demonstrate strong
professional behaviors,"
-
"are good at problem solving
skills and application of techniques,"....
