Bryon
Ballantyne, PT, PhD
Associate Professor
Teaches in research methods, human gross anatomy, evidence
based practice, and functional anatomy. His clinical experience is
mainly in the area of outpatient orthopedics. He has published
several research articles on lower extremity injuries and has
completed his PhD at the
University of Iowa with an emphasis on motor control of posture and
movement.

John
O. Barr, PT, PhD
Professor
Teaches in professional development, neuroscience and
geriatrics-related courses. He is the author of textbook chapters
concerned with TENS, instrumentation, and pain management for the
elderly. Dr. Barr is a former president of the Iowa Physical
Therapy Association and Foundation, and received the Olive Farr
Distinguished Service Award from the IPTA and the Lucy Blair Service
Award from APTA. He currently is the president of
the Section on Geriatrics, APTA, and on the editorial board of
The Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy and co-editor of the
Geriatric Rehabilitation Manual.

Sandra
L. Cassady, PT, PhD, FAACVPR
Director & Professor
Teaches cardiopulmonary physical therapy and exercise physiology.
She is past Editor of The Cardiopulmonary Journal and
past Associate Editor of The Journal of Orhopaedic and Sports
Physical Therapy. Dr. Cassady has written numerous articles and
abstracts on topics related to her areas of interest and is
currently involved in a community-based risk factor reduction
program for minorities and women. She has earned several
professional awards for teaching, research and professional
service. She is a fellow of the American Association of
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and serves on the board
of directors for this national organization.

Barbara Ehrmann,
PT, DPT, MBA
Adjunct Instructor
Coordinates lectures in pathology
and medical management and assists in human gross anatomy and
functional anatomy. She holds a bachelors and masters degree in
finance from the University of Iowa and received her DPT degree from
St. Ambrose University. Her clinical experiences include inpatient
care, outpatient care, industrial medicine and her current practice
in home health. She serves as treasurer of the Iowa Physical Therapy
Association's Southeast District.

Kevin
P. Farrell, PT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT
Professor
Teaches
kinesiology/biomechanics, orthopaedics, and is involved in
several Transition DPT courses. He serves as chair of the
Transition DPT Program and is coordinating development of the
residency program in orthopaedics, as well as courses in the
transition and residency programs. Dr. Farrell is a board
certified orthopaedic clinical specialist and a Fellow in the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He
continues in part-time clinical practice and
is an APTA credentialed Advanced Clinical Instructor.

Lynn
M. Frank, PT, MPT, ACCE
Assistant Professor
Collaborates in implementing individual student plans for
clinical education, assists with neuromuscular therapeutics and
coordinates the course on mangement of the medically complex
patient.
Her clinical experiences include acute care and rehabilitation, as
well as pediatric consultation. She is a board certified neurologic
clinical specialist, is certified in neurodevelopmental treatment
for adults with hemiplegia and is a credentialed trainer for both APTA's
Clinical Instructor Credentialing and Advanced Clinical Instructor programs.

Susan
J. Hartung, PT, MA, ACCE
Adjunct Assistant Professor
Manages contracts with clinical education facilities and assists
students with individualized clinical education plans. Her
clinical experiences include acute care in a metropolitan tertiary
care center, adult neurological rehabilitation, pediatrics in
schools, and overseas teaching and practice. She is an APTA
credentialed Advanced Clinical Instructor and serves as a member of
the Iowa Consortium for Clinical Education.

Kathie
E. Lampe, PT, MPT, CWS, FACCWS
Assistant Professor
Teaches PT
procedures, physical
agents, patient care issues, and
the integument course. She is a Fellow in the American College
of Certified Wound Specialists. Kathie has authored abstracts,
articles, book reviews, and a book chapter on wound evaluation.
She also practices at an area clinic.

Mark
J. Levsen, PT, MA, SCS, OCS, FAAOMPT
Assistant Professor
Teaches
musculoskeletal therapeutics, orthotics and
prosthetics, and differential diagnosis. He is the co-founder of an outpatient orthopedic
clinic where he currently practices. He is a clinical specialist in
sports and orthopedics and a Fellow in the American Academy of
Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Michael
Puthoff, PT, PhD
Assistant Professor
Teaches cardiopulmonary therapeutics, exercise physiology, PT
procedures, and presents on topics in geriatrics. His research
interest includes measuring function in older adults and the
benefits of exercise and physical activity for older adults. His
clinical practice includes work in the hospital and nursing home
setting focusing on older adults with chronic health conditions. He
is a two-time recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association
Section on Geriatrics Adopt-A-Doc award and in 2007 was recognized
as an Emerging Leader in Physical Therapy by the American Physical
Therapy Association. |
Nora
A. Riley, PT, MA, NCS
Assistant Professor
Teaches
neuromuscular therapeutics and physical therapy procedures II. Her
clinical practice focuses on individuals with neurological disorders
including stroke, brain injury, balance and dizziness disorders,
multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. Mrs. Riley is a clinical
specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy, has a certificate of
competency in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular disorders
and is certified in neurodevelopmental treatment for adults with
hemiplegia. |
