Established in 1992, Quercus
publishes the creative writing and artwork of St. Ambrose students,
faculty, staff and alumni.
Quercus submissions are
judged by student editorial boards. "There are a lot of long days and late nights," notes Carl Herzig, faculty advisor. "The students read, discuss, edit, proofread, and do all the lay-out, hundreds of small but important decisions."
Quercus will celebrate its 17th year of publication with a reception beginning at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in the Ambrose Hall Board Room. Writers will read their fiction and poetry and artists will display and discuss their works at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
