Hansen

Matt is excited to be starting his 10th year as part of
the Ambrose family. He felt welcomed here as soon as he
started and works with his staff to insure you become a
member of the community here as well. Matt grew up in
Rhinelander, Wis., and earned his bachelor's degree in
speech communication at Macalaster College in St. Paul,
Minn. After graduation, he worked as a Hall Manager at
the University of Wisconsin-Superior for three years and
married his wife Jayme, who he met while at Macalaster.
Looking to continue in the Student Affairs field, Matt
and Jayme moved to the University of Maine where he
worked on his master's in student development in higher
education. After completing his master's, the Hansens
moved back to the Midwest and he accepted his current
position at St. Ambrose. In his time here, he worked on
the renovation of Rohlman Hall and has seen the
construction of Hagen, Bechtel, Franklin Hall, the
Rogalski Center, and now the New Hall opening in August
‘08. His duties and staff size have continued to grow,
and it has been a wonderful experience. He enjoys the
challenges of his job and the opportunity to work with
great students and staff.
Matt and Jayme have two children, Hannah, age 10, and
Jacob, age 7.
Jason Kilmer

Originally from Ames,
IA, Jason is returning to St. Ambrose for his third year.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Elmira College, in
Elmira, NY, majoring in History, Psychology and American
Studies, Jason traveled to Texas to begin his professional
Residence Life career, as the Quad Coordinator, Coordinator
of Intramurals, and Drug and Alcohol Educator at Kilgore
College, a community college in east Texas. In 2007, Jason
completed his Masters of Science in Higher Education
Administration and earned his degree from Texas A&M
University at Commerce.
This year at Ambrose, Jason is looking to further establish
himself within the campus community and looks forward to
bringing forth new ideas and ventures. This is an exciting
time, and Jason is anticipating great things to happen.
Jason is joined at St. Ambrose by his wife, Mandy.
Mike Lindsay
Rohlman & Hayes Hall Director

Mike is pleased to begin his second year as a member of the
Residence Life team and is thrilled to continue serving the
St. Ambrose community as a full-time staff member. A
Davenport native, he is excited to be back in the Quad
Cities. Mike is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah,
Iowa and holds a degree in Communication Studies and
Religion. During his time at Luther, Mike worked three years
as a music director at KWLC and developed a passion for
college radio and independent music. He also enjoyed summers
in Minneapolis interning with a Miss USA Pageants production
company as well as his time studying abroad in Germany,
Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic. In his free time,
Mike can be found refereeing soccer games or on the disc
golf course.
Heather Venema

Heather is
very excited to be entering her third year as a
professional staff member of the Residence Life team. She
grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa and graduated from St. Ambrose
in 2006 with a degree in public relations and marketing
communications. In addition to being a Hall Director,
Heather is the President of the Staff Assembly at SAU, and
is the VP of Communications and Marketing for the Davenport
Jaycees. This year, she will graduate with her master's in
organizational leadership. In her free time she likes
working out, playing volleyball, listening to music,
and cheering on the Bettendorf Bulldogs!
Erin Craghead

Erin is returning to Franklin Hall for her third as the
professional full-time Hall Director. She is excited to
welcome her students and staff to campus for the academic
year.Erin is pursuing a master's of organizational
leadership at St. Ambrose, so she knows what it is like to
be a fighting bee student. As a native of Fulton, Missouri,
and recent graduate of Drake University, Erin loves the
Midwest and is excited to begin a new year at SAU. Go bees!
Ria Subrahmanyam

Ria is returning to the St. Ambrose Residence Life staff for
a second year, and is very excited to start this new year.
Ria grew up in Manama, Bahrain (a small island in the
Arabian sea) and came into Indiana to further her education.
She attended Manchester College and completed her psychology
degree in May 2007. Ria plans to continue study as she
pursues a master's of organizational leadership at Ambrose.
Aside from being excited about her position, Ria looks
forward to learning about the Quad cities, getting involved
with some community music and volunteering more. In her
spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, singing and
talking to her family.
Alan
Hartley

Alan is new to the St. Ambrose Residence Life
team. Alan is excited to continue his residence life career
and is looking forward to the new people and opportunities
that wait in the coming year. As a native to Kentucky, Alan
grew up in Bowling Green and received his degree in Special
Education from Murray State University in the December of
2007. In his time at Murray Alan had the opportunity to
travel abroad to Belize to use his degree and teach students
with special needs. Recently, he completed a semester of
teaching with Calloway County High School. Alan is looking
forward to seeing what Ambrose has to offer and getting to
know everyone coming to the “Grove.”
Pat Reidy
Tiedemann & Hagen Hall Director

Pat is excited to be entering his first year as a member of
the St. Ambrose professional staff. He was born and raised
in Park Ridge, Illinois, 20 minutes northwest of Chicago. He
recently graduated from Quincy University with degrees in
mathematics and computer science. While Pat was at QU, he
was a three-year member of the Residence Life Staff, a
scholarship athlete for D I/II Men’s Volleyball, and an
active member of the Student Programming Board. Pat is
looking forward to finding ways to impact the St. Ambrose
community and while he isn’t working, you will most likely
find him working out or trying to sharpen his mind. He will
also be pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration
and eagerly discovering all that his new home has to offer!
