Matt Hansen
Director of Residence Life & Housing
HansenMattB@sau.edu

Matt is excited to be starting his 10th year as part of the Ambrose family. He felt welcomed here as soon as he started and works with his staff to insure you become a member of the community here as well. Matt grew up in Rhinelander, Wis., and earned his bachelor's degree in speech communication at Macalaster College in St. Paul, Minn. After graduation, he worked as a Hall Manager at the University of Wisconsin-Superior for three years and married his wife Jayme, who he met while at Macalaster.

Looking to continue in the Student Affairs field, Matt and Jayme moved to the University of Maine where he worked on his master's in student development in higher education. After completing his master's, the Hansens moved back to the Midwest and he accepted his current position at St. Ambrose. In his time here, he worked on the renovation of Rohlman Hall and has seen the construction of Hagen, Bechtel, Franklin Hall, the Rogalski Center, and now the New Hall opening in August ‘08. His duties and staff size have continued to grow, and it has been a wonderful experience. He enjoys the challenges of his job and the opportunity to work with great students and staff.

Matt and Jayme have two children, Hannah, age 10, and Jacob, age 7.
